A lot of web sites operate on the 'build it and they will come'
premise. This is especially true of many sites that offer
contests as a way of attracting visitors. What they just don't
seem to understand is that their contest does not help them
increase traffic if people are entering it only because they have
already found their site and noticed there was a contest. In
order for a contest to be effective visitors should be finding
their site because they want to enter the contest.

How do I know this is true? Because our site, Contestworld,
receives only a small percentage of our contest listings via
request from the contest host.

Contestworld is a content specific search engine that lists
contests absolutely free! All the contest administrator has to do
is visit our Add A Listing page at:
http://www.contestworld.com/add.html and request a listing.
Not only will their contest be listed free but they will have some
control over how it is listed (i.e. what keywords it will be found
under in the search engine, contest description, etc.).

But don't stop there! There are literally dozens of sites ready
and willing to list your contest on their site and send you
traffic... absolutely free! Request a listing from as many as
you can. Usually the main objective of any site for having a
contest is to enhance their exposure or increase their traffic.
Free listings can maximize this objective.

Sincerely,
Jim Kulakoski
