We've done some interesting comparisons between email and banners for
promoting an online study recently. Our best banners on leading search
engines are pulling <.1% while emailed links to the study pulled a .15%
response. Of course, the banners on our own site draw the best!
By the way, if you'd like to participate in the FutureScapes study
(http://www.futurestudy.com), you have a few more days to do so.
FutureScapes is an online survey benchmarking changes in work and homelife
habits as a result of 'Net use. Participants can sign up for a
complimentary summary of study results, which will include issues such
changes in brand loyalty and other purchasing behaviors online, changes in
business media buys and many others.
Results will also be presented -- with commentary from experts from the
Vice President's office and many other corporations and departments of
government -- at the "Economic Earthquakes: Implications for Industry,
Commerce & Government of Widespread Global 'Net Adoption" conference on Dec
3-4 in Washington DC (http://www.activmedia.com/conference).
