And The Survey Says !!!!

While everyone points at (a) anecdotal information or (b) their own Web =
site in order to determine where "hits" are coming from, a very nice =
survey by Georgia Tech (the 7th GVU Internet User survey) shows that, =
far and away, the two key referral points to Web sites are search =
engines and other web pages. It's free to look at and available on the =
Web.

While there is not a lot of secondary research about the Web, there are =
an ever increasing number of studies which provide basic marketing =
research information.

For those of you who want to cut to the chase, the stats are as follows:

"How Users Find Out About WWW Pages"

Search Engines 86.5%
Other WWW Pages 85.3
Printed Media 62.8
Friends 58.2
Usenet 32.2
TV 31.9
E-Mail 31.6
Books 27.7
Other 27.7

Obviously, people could choose more than one answer.
