<snip> To date this type of sponsorship has proven to be much more
effective that traditional banner ads. We find that it really helps to
have the story
directly relate to the advertisement -- in this case we have a film/camera
company sponsoring a photo story on Fall Foliage. </snip>

I agree it is a great way to keep potential buyers around with relevant
content. Our company, Internet Outfitters, put together an entire site with
original content for Toshiba's Electronic Imaging Division. We found the
site to be the perfect way to give them a "corporate face" and useful
information for their target markets. The site (
http://www.officemanager.com ) is *sponsored* by Toshiba, it has a
directory of links, newsletters from the office workers, an email list and
even some very successful copier games (more fun than it sounds) when you
need to blow off some steam. We are adding a game room to our "office" and
are excited to keep growing. We've recommended similar strategies to other
major clients of ours.

Cheers,
Michele
