After several months of lurking, I thought I'd chip in with my two cents.
I am not surprised that most users are coming in from search engines. The
reason for this is two-fold, as I have been able to discern from my
research work on the Web: 1. It's far easier for consumers to just punch
in key words into a search engine than actually type in a URL which they
tend to forget. 2. Search engine returns enable users to use it as a
reference point to return each time after exploring one of the results. It
gives them a sense of navigational control when confronted with information
overload.
