Well, we seem to have the dubious "honor" of being selected as Mark
Welch's "target du jour."

We have almost 1000 sites listed in MarketMatch and because we value the
relationships we have with those sites, we take every complaint quite
seriously.

Here, simply put, is what we did and why we did it.

In conjunction with one of our partners, Marketwave, we sent a an email
to our contacts in the MarketMatch database regarding Marketwave's Hit
List Professional product. We did this because:
1) We regularly receive requests from our site partners seeking
recommendations about site software for measurement, auditing, ad
management etc.
2) Users of Marketwave's product will soon be able to automatically
upload traffic statistics to MarketMatch-thus making it easier for sites
to provide data to MarketMatch.
3) We negotiated an agreement whereby MarketMatch listed sites could
receive a substantial discount.
4) Finally, and most importantly, we did this because we felt that it
would be of benefit to our site partners--people with whom we have a
relationship.

What Focalink has not done:
1) We have not and do not "sell" our MarketMatch email list.

2) We get no financial benefit from this. Nothing for the names and
nothing whatsoever from MarketWave.

3) We do not do this as a regular course of business. This is the first
time we've tried this and we are looking forward to the feedback.

Interestingly, in terms of feedback, most telling is that Mark is the
only one who has complained so far.
