I received the same email message regarding the "promotion software"
as did Mr. Welch. The only reason I received it was because I
signed up some time ago to receive information on the subject of web
promotion. It wasn't spam in my opinion. I suppose if I had forgotten
that I signed up for such info, I would have simply replied with a
request to be removed from the list.

We email information and announcements to people who sign up for it.
We also invite our subscribers to unsubscribe at any time if they
prefer not to be on our list. I hope no one would feel to put us out
of business instead of simply unsubscribing, even if they had
forgotten they initially subscribed. I would also be interested
others' perceptions of the problem and how to deal with it.
