all wrote illuminatingly on the above subject which is so close
to my heart. The pay per event model (which essentially comes
down to pay per sale) works brilliantly on the net (both for the
advertiser and for the content site) providing there are three
elements in place - Trust - Administration - Choice.
At Safe we have been working hard to bring these elements
together and have been rewarded by 1,500 registrations in four
months and explosive growth in traffic with close to 60 Million
impressions per month now. Trust comes from an independent
auditor with demonstrable integrity. Administration comes from a
comprehensive automated database environment. And choice
comes from an automated marketplace where advertisers can
promote their proposals to content sites.
We manage the process of approving each content site and
checking each individual banner hosting. This is a time intensive
job but is esential to building trust. By request from some
advertisers we are just adding the facility to enable them to see
the location and stats for each hosting. Additionally they will be
able to suspend any specific banner hosting if they wish. That
fits our philosophy of empowering our clients. I think that pay
per event is a model that all advertisers should study and consider
carefully since there are many inherent potential benefits. We have
just set up a franchise and our first franchised site is starting at the
beginning of next month.
