Hi gang,
We are taking a rare liberty and imposing upon you with a brief word from
your list sponsors at Tenagra.
We are getting started with the planning process for the fourth annual
(1997) Tenagra Awards for Internet Marketing Excellence (
http://awards.tenagra.com/ ). We expect the award applications for this
year's awards to be available from the awards web site in early December.
There is an awards update mailing list you can sign up for there now if you
want to be kept up to date.
As most of you are probably aware, we created the awards in 1994 as a means
of providing the press and the public positive examples of innovative and
significant successes in the Internet marketing industry. The awards
provide peer recognition to those that have made significant contributions
to facilitate marketing on the Internet or who have used Internet marketing
to achieve significant financial return, advertising success or public
relations success.
One of the most gratifying and unexpected results is that we have found
many web sites for university courses in which the award winners are used
as case research studies by the instructor. Overall, we have been
generally pleased with the degree of exposure that we have achieved for
both the awards program and the award winners. Our hope, however, is to
turn things up a notch or two this coming year and provide much wider
visibility for the awards program and winners, both online and offine. In
order to make this possible, we are seeking 2-4 major sponsors for the 1997
awards program. It will be the first time we will have accepted outside
sponsorship, but we have found that costs of orchestrating and publicizing
a high profile awards program are otherwise prohibitive.
We will be putting together a package that provides high visibility and
cross-marketing opportunities for our awards program sponsors.
Organizations that think that this type of sponsorship opportunity might be
of potential interest should please contact me by phone or e-mail.
Beyond this, we welcome comments or suggestions from the list on how to
make the awards program of even greater value to those in the Internet
marketing community. One suggestion the awards committee made after last
year's awards was to add a fifth award category covering online
publications that specifically cater to the Internet marketing crowd. Any
other ideas?
