Hi John,

When we first started out I cold called 100 ad agencies about
WWWomen, the largest search directory of female oriented topics.
Given the fact that this was mid 1996 there was luke warm interest
only and, what we found out was that it simply was not worth the
time and effort to educate these agencies on the Internet/Web--
it takes too long and, in the end, even if they do come around,
you're not guaranteed any business!

Currently our business is brisk but with advertisers who are
saavy and know online and are ready to buy. And, relative to a year
and a half ago there, there are plenty of these ad agencies out
there.

My advice? Probably not to spend a great deal of time with
agencies that aren't ready but to find ones that are and, preferably,
are already doing online buys.
