Greetings. My name is Allen Graber and I am a partner in a company
called Hypermart (http://www.hypermart.net). This is my first post to
this list though I have been reading and learning from it for some time
now.
I was wondering if anyone out there could give me some advice. During
the month of March, Hypermart utilized the services of several ad
networks such as DoubleClick, Flycast, AdAuction, and Burst to deliver
ads to our web site and our 10,000 + users' sites. (Hypermart provides
free domain hosting to businesses. In return, we get to insert banner
ads on our network of users' sites). As we are not selling advertising
on our own yet, we rely on these networks to bring us advertisers.
When Flycast and DoubleClick don't have a paid ad to serve to us, they
will serve up a default/house ad, which is basically a Hypermart banner
ad. During March, we delivered over 7 million ads from DoubleClick
Direct's program. However, over 3 million of these were the Hypermart
banner ad. The other 4 million were cost per click or cost per action
ads. The main concern is what to do with the default ad since it isnt
generating any potential revenue. Would it be possible to give
DoubleClick a default ad that could potentially earn us money? Does
anyone have a similar experience or advice?
One other question. Our main site is part of the Flycast Network. When
one of their advertisers makes a blind buy across the network, we get to
deliver some of the banner ads if we have Flycast activated at the time.
Some times we have other advertisers rotated in, but if we knew when a
blind buy was taking place, we would like to adjust so we could deliver
those ads. Is there any way one can be notified when an advertiser
places a real-time buy?
Thanks,
Allen Graber
