Hey all,

Those of you that have been members of Online Ads for a long time know that
we used to do a weekly mailing called Ad Bytes. It was a recap of the
online advertising news. We put it on hiatus for awhile because things were
too crazy for us to do it every week.

Well, things are still crazy. But we've decided to bring it back. And
actually, we're spinning it off as a separate publication. Now Ad Bytes has
got its own URL and everything!

The first issue is coming into your mailboxes later today. We plan to send
out a new issue every Monday. I figured I would send this first one to
everyone, just like old times. But to get it after today, you'll need to
sign-up for it at:

http://www.ad-bytes.com/

We've expanded and changed it a bit. The new publication will be organized
into six sections:

1.) links to ad/promo news articles from the past week
2.) links to ad/promo news releases from the past week
3.) links to new ad/promo resources from the past week
4.) one innonvative campaign (submitted by agencies)
5.) a book review of an advertising/marketing book
6.) ad job postings

Sections will appear and disappear at various times, depending on the
content we have for that week.

The main focus of the web site will be to sign people up, and to provide
forms to submit links to press release, hiring info and ad campaigns. But
it will also have an archive of past issues (boycotted for one month).

Ad Bytes will also become somewhat of an experiment in e-mail marketing,
the progress of which I will share with everyone on the list. First off, Ad
Bytes will be available in both plain e-mail and HTML-enabled e-mail.
(We'll see what people really prefer.) And second, we're collecting some
demographic data when people sign up.

For those of you who have fond memories of Ad Bytes, feel free to sign up
for it now. If you don't remember, or have never seen it before, wait until
I send you this first issue and then decide.
