Hi Andy, et al:
I've been really pleased with the results of the eToys
Affiliate program so far this holiday season.
eToys provides a 25% commission on affiliate sales. The
program lends itself well to just about any site during the
holiday season at least - regardless of your content you
should be able to point people to online shopping. As a
parent and occasional toy shopper I perceive the value in
the site and feel good about recommending it to my users.
Sales results to date for appx. 4 weeks from mid-November
through mid-December show appx. $3000.00 in affiliate sales
from my site. This was driven primarily through running
eToys banners (which are provided) in place of my unsold
inventory (well under 10% of total impressions) and "one
liners" inserted into into my membership mailings.
eToys reports monthly, but were able to provide me with data
"on demand" outside of the normal schedule within one
business day. They appear to maintain a high standard for
their affiliate sites, and they also appear to monitor their
affiliates compliance with their program. (I got scolded
for a "questionable" link on one of my pages.)

Regarding Amazon - I like the Amazon program. I'm not
making much money from them, but I see the value there and
believe that if one of us here were to focus on setting up a
well-planned online bookstore for Bangkok.com that results
would follow.
Amazon's weekly reports are excellent - they show every
title that was clicked upon, looked at or purchased.
I see the Amazon affiliate program as being an almost zero
cost, risk free endeavor. So what if I'm only getting one
$100 check from them each quarter? That's $100 that I
didn't have before, and whatever content I've produced for
the "bookstore" is additional content for my site.

Speedlane: I provided Speedlane with 1900+ click-throughs
during a quick test in September. Speedlane is supposed to
pay out 15% commission for every $19.95 download. Their
software looks good, and I felt as if it was a compelling
sale.
Unfortunately, I have been pestering them for WEEKS now to
get the sales results from the 1900 click-throughs that were
provided to them. Yesterday they responded by telling me
that NO SALES were generated from these 1900 click-throughs.
My response was that this couldn't possibly be true, and
that they would have to look into it again. They have since
responded that their reporting mechanism forces them to look
at sales day by day and that someone will have to take the
time to do so for my account. I am very eager to hear back
from them.
Has anyone else participated in Speedlane's program?

I am looking forward to hearing what other people have to
say.
