At Andover.Net we've had great success with Next/Previous links on our
"product" pages. http://www.DaveCentral.com will give you a good idea of what
I'm talking about.

Considering that DaveCentral has over 4,000 pages, it's very easy to navigate
the hierarchy by clicking from the home page to a category page, then a
sub-category page and then finally the last level of "product" pages, each page
devoted to a single program. The folder-tree navigation scheme on the left side
makes it very easy to jump around between categories without the visitor having
to sit through a bunch of in-between pages. Once they get to the bottom level
of the hierarchy we get a great page view multiple by allowing them to travel
"sideways" using the Next/Previous links.

After taking a look at PlanetRider.com, I think you could implement this by
expanding the depth of your travel site reviews so that they each deserved a
full page of space.
