Folks,
We've put up a web page with some digital photos taken at the Online Ads
dinner we coordinated for members of this list the night before the
conference began. A wild evening it was, with many familiar posters to
this list in attendance. See it all at:
http://www.o-a.com/webad98/dinner.html
The dinner was fully booked with people on the wait list that the
restaurant could not accommodate. Next year we will look for a venue that
can handle twice the number of people.
<MODERATOR's NOTE>
WebRep was kind enough to take pictures at the conference itself.

There were a number of common misconceptions about this list that routinely
surface at conferences. Let me try to clear them up...
1) If you are reading this e-mail, it is because you are subscribed to the
Online Advertising Discussion List. This list is commonly confused with
two other lists -- the Tenagra Newsletter and the Internet Advertising
Discussion List:
This Online Advertising Discussion List is one of many e-mail lists
operated by The Tenagra Corporation. It is NOT the Tenagra Newsletter.
You need to subscribe to the Tenagra Newsletter separately if you wish to
receive it. Tenagra is fortunate to be routinely involved in many of the
most interesting happenings and developments in the online world, and the
Tenagra newsletter goes out just once every two months with the latest
agency news, information about interesting projects Tenagra is
participating in online, speaking schedules of people at Tenagra, and some
tips on Internet marketing and advertising. If you want to receive the
Tenagra Newsletter, you can subscribe by filling out the form at:
http://www.tenagra.com/contact.html
-----
The Internet Advertising Discussion List is another fine discussion list
about our industry run by Adam Boettiger at Eyescream interactive. The
similarity in names often causes confusion, but they are separate
discussions. If you don't subscribe to Adam's list you might consider
joining it as well:

Finally, some of the attendees told me that they were shocked when they met
me to see that I am NOT, shall we say, getting well on in my years.
Perhaps my writing style makes it seem like my I've entered the beginning
stages of senility? It is true I've been in the Internet marketing
industry forever, but in this context forever is only four years. It is
also true that the staff at Tenagra does call me "The Old Man" from time to
time, but that is only because I am the only one in the company over 35
years of age. Still, I'm under 40, so don't be surprised if I'm not too
ancient when you meet me!
-----
Finally, the last misconception -- please remember that the name of your
good moderator on this list is Richard Hoy and not Roy, as so many seem
prone to call him (actually, far few people have taken to calling me "Kurt"
since people have started calling Richard, "Roy," so I shouldn't complain).
Best,
