I completely agree with Jim Kulakoski's common steps to post
contests. He is no doubt an expert in the contest realm.
Of course, the prize and visibility of your site
are two major factors in the success of your contest as well.

Another medium that I would like to see more of are newsletters
announcing 'Contests, Sweepstakes and Giveaways'. Four that
I have discovered so far are; "Win-Former" (from Contestworld),
"Rags to Riches Newsletter", "Winning Ways", and "Playle's
Sweepstakes Weekly". Their subscriber bases have grown incredibly
and they look forward to receiving your submissions, obviously,
because they keep the newsletter running.

To receive the newsletter, most are a paid subscriptions
unfortuanately. But moderators inform submitters that contests
will be announced to the list. I feel that online newsletters have
become a medium in their own right. It is an extremely helpful way
to reach a mass target audience for contests.

You can add you contest to Jim's "Win-Former" at
http://www.contestworld.com/add.html which has an incredible
database that extends to an international audience.
Very helpful, thanks Jim!
