Absolutely agree that the smaller clients are always more
demanding of time and assistance than the larger ones.
And in most cases they do not have what it takes to learn,
grow and become more interesting customers.
However, we allow a minimum $500 budget on the Safe
Network in the full knowledge that we cannot make any
profit on a one time $500 budget (probably lose money but
I would rather not know <g>). Our experience is that: of the
smaller advertisers a fair proportion go on to bubble away
at their $500 per month level which does produce a profit.
What is far more interesting is that we have often started
larger advertisers on budgets of $500/$1,500 and find that
within the first week they have doubled up their budget and
within a couple of weeks doubled again and then go on to
spend substantial sums on their campaign with us. So a
small minimum that cannot generate a profit is a statement
that you have confidence in the quality of what you deliver
and are willing to prove it.
