ONLINE-ADS>> Advertising for Merchants

As the title suggests, a new client has posed an entirely new situation for
our web marketing company. They want to get the word out to merchants, not
shoppers (just yet), of their new Specialty & Gift Emporium
<http://www.audemus.com/emporium/announce.htm>. They plan to populate the
emporium with existing online retailers, with the unique catch that only
one vendor per specific category/product will be allowed to become a tenant
in the emporium. They are setting it up much like a web directory, with the
obvious exception being there will be only one listing (storefront) per
specific item description.

The puzzlement we face is that all our experience has been geared to
driving qualified prospect traffic to our online retailer clients. Courting
merchants is a bit of a head-scratcher for us. Some obvious thoughts such
as banner ads in specialty and gourmet sections of web directories would
seem to be appropriate, but anyone's experienced input on this "mirror
image" quest for merchants instead of shoppers would be greatly
appreciated.
