While I don't have data, I noticed while printing out some
materials for a speaking engagement tonight that many
animated banners present poorly when printed. Only the
content of the first frame is printed, and in many banners
the first frame does not identify the product, vendor, or
even the subject of the ad.

Yesterday, I redesigned a couple of my own banners so
that the last frame is shown FIRST, because I know that
my web pages are often printed out and copied. (This is
not the place to discuss the copyright implications of
such acts.)

Of course, the printed copy always becomes stale quickly;
I printed out some pages from my site on Sunday to use
as a handout and since then, I've added 9 new entries
and removed one defunct company from one of those
pages (which contained 189 entries). That's nearly a 5%
change rate in three days.

(On some of my web pages, I make a point of including
the URL of the web page itself in the body of the content,
since some people print out copies without the URL.)
