I just received the newest issue of _at_d.Tech.Chicag, Report #8. I'd like to
correct the following information about Hotwired.

The first banner ads were sold and imagined by Dale Dougherty. These ads
were placed on his site, GNN, Global Network Navigator, a service that
appeared long before Hotwire's debut.

I'm not sure Dale relishes the title of "The man who brought advertising to
the web"--but he did.

History is written by the victors, obviously Wired is a victor. GNN was
sold to AOL and is now defunct.
