Here's some stats that I found:

A survey of what method led surfers to most of the Web sites they visited.
Date: July, 1997.
ï 71% used search engines
ï 9.8% asked friends and relatives
ï 8.5% used newspapers and magazines
ï 8.4% used links from other web sites
ï 8.1% arrived from browsing or surfing around
ï 3.6% used TV
ï 3.3% used printed Internet directories
Source: CommerceNet/Nielsen Media

I am in the media business myself and would appreciate any stats concerning
the use of non-internet advertising to drive traffic to a Web site.

Does it work? What methods are better than others?
