Hi.....

Here's a real life story.

An Intel Project Manager for whom we were managing an online marketing
campaign not too long ago wanted to be picked up by USA Today in the worse
way. We were able to get coverage for his project in both the print and the
online versions of USA Today. The resulting traffic?

The online coverage generated 5X more visitors to the Web site than the
offline coverage.

But, as with most other things that we discuss here, it all depends on what
you're trying to accomplish. If your goal is to generate traffic, than
online coverage should be your focus. However, if your goal is to build
prominence in the investment community, for venture capital financing or to
build an exit strategy for example, than offline coverage in a publication
such as the WSJ works like magic.

And of course offline coverage is better nourishment for the ego.

Regards,
John Audette
