> My question is this: How do you make the most out of your 15 minutes?

Greg,

1) You won't get always get 15 minutes.

2) Try to obtain a list of questions the interviewer will
ask you in advance so you can plan your response.
This is perfectly normal request prior to a tv appearance.

3) Try to actually appear in their studio with the host. You
generally get more air time if you are in the studio with the host
as opposed to a remote location.

4) Keep your response to any question short (15-30 seconds per response)
Then let the interviewer follow-up. Don't be afraid to interrupt
if someone says something you don't like or you believe to be
incorrect. TV producers love a good debate, just have your
facts straight.

5) Speaking of facts, have some interesting stats about if
more deaths are due to illness, car accident, drug abuse or just old age. Dig
up any other unusual info you think might be entertaining
or help you support your 'pro' dead pool arguement.

6) Before you spend money on a release --
Do the show and see what pans out afterwards.
News producers watch other shows looking for good
guests just like as they troll through newspapers
looking for ideas. If you are a success on CNBC you might
receive other calls without spending a dime.

Search around for some links on media relations and media
coaching before your appear on the show. There are a number
of books on the subject as well.
