The Globe is currently hosting a microsite/sweepstakes for The Big Lebowski
from Polygram Films and it is getting a great response. The microsite is
being promoted throughout the site and we have seen thousands of people
register for The Big Lebowski Sweepstakes we are running in just a few days.

You asked about stats regarding effectiveness of the microsite...I think
effectiveness depends on what the goal of the microsite is. Our
sweepstakes is designed to get people to register and we can evaluate it
based on the size of the database we create. Other microsites may need to
be judged on total number of page views the microsite serves.

The site will only be around for a few weeks but it is a good example of
how to run a promotion without linking out of your own site. Check it out
