Hi all--

There seems to be alot of discussion lately about Yahoo and whether or not
it's worth it to be listed in the directory (Issue#32). I'd like to add my
.02.

IMHO, getting a good listing in Yahoo is a major part of an online
marketing plan. Search engines are great for traffic, but you will have to
optimize your site and resubmit repeatedly for the best results. (I don't
mind doing this since it's how I make a living.) However, once you have a
great title with keywords and a good description with keywords, you will
only have to submit to Yahoo once to reap good results.

Selecting good keywords and writing a good description is the key to
showing up in Yahoo search queries. For example, on our web site, we get
most of our e-mail inquiries as a result of a Yahoo search, and since many
people like to meet face-to-face with a business partner, we get
considerable traffic from Chicago Yahoo.

We have written an article at http://www.grantasticdesigns.com/yahoo.html
that details the key points about getting listed well in Yahoo.

Take care,

Shari Thurow
