We've thought about this kind of advertising in NetSchool (online English
school for Japanese people). We send out a short lesson and test every day,
and we could easily use product names in the lessons. Eg. "Have you seen
today's newspaper?" could be "Have you seen today's Times?", "We flew to
Chicago" could be "We flew with Delta to Chicago", etc.

It makes great advertising because the student will be reading the sentence
a number of times. The problem is that we just don't have enough students to
make it of interest to a big company. This must apply to many sites.

Is there any solution? Some way that a thousand small sites could each use
certain brand names or brand images in a natural way in their content, and
get paid per view by a middleman who then passes those charges on to the big
companies. I guess the tracking and reporting involved just make it too much
trouble?
