Hi everyone, I recently joined the list.

I'd like to throw my 2 cents in and say that I find it offensive when an ad
appears more than once in a single e-mail message. Richard, I know you don't
agree (judging from the structure of this list's mailings) but I assume
receivers of e-mails either read them through serially (in a threaded
comment/response structure like this you HAVE to read things serially to
follow
the discussion) or don't read them at all. I mail a monthly update e-mail
to my
site opt-in list and I only include a promotion for one in-house product,
once,
per e-mail. I have a very low unsubscribe rate (2%) on my opt-in list. It's
like talking to someone who keeps repeating a point when you don't respond
enthusiastically enough the first time -- it's annoying after a while. You
have
to assume a certain intelligence/education/sophistication level on the web.
But
that's MY 2 cents!
