At 01:33 PM 3/20/98 -0600, : Kim Jones <kdjones_at_lexmundi.org> wondered:

>Hi all -- We recently had a major legal publisher decline to advertise
>on our site after extensive sales pitces, negotiations, etc... One of
>the two reasons was that we had very few advertisers.

I might have offered to guarantee a response rate, with a pro-rata refund
if they don't get it. What does it matter if they're advertiser #1 or
#784,754 if they get adequate responses?

The next thing is to prempt this from happening again. If you can't sell
your inventory, trade it with someone else so that you can show a large
number of clients later! I've traded a number of times with other e-mail
lists. The problem I'm having is that there are few lists big enough to
make trades viable for me....
