John,

We've been using Webtrends 4.0 here at ITN for about three months now. As a
user-tracking package, it certainly delivers the goods, with the added bonus of
an easy-to-understand interface.

Granted, it practically screams "Microsoft Excel" at you (...did I say chunky
graphics?), but at least its a format your customers know and love. You'll
particularly enjoy (for a whole eight seconds) the ability to chart x number of
pages on your site in terms of the number of impressions; although if you're
pushing past 2,500 I'd advise against charting them all. If the temptation
arises - and it will, stand up, walk out of the building, breathe deeply, then
return to your seat.

ITN is a broadcast news provider in the UK, so the need to track user activity
following a transmission is paramount. Equally important is the way in which
users travel through the site, where they go to and from whence they came etc.
Webtrends does all of this and more. At the risk of sounding like a vendor with
a vested interest in selling a copy to you, I'd go so far as to say it kicks
like a mule.

Yours gushingly.

Owen
