Yes, I agree. I see this as an advertising problem for small Internet
merchants -- the ones that can't afford the minimum buy. At one point
we tried to create a mall for these small merchants where we would
link to their site from the mall. All the members would pay a yearly
due that would go to advertising the mall and indirectly their sites.
The majority of the feedback was that they have been burned by malls
before and they didn't want it to happen again.

I hear people on mailing lists saying they never use a mall when
they do shopping. They always just go to one of the search engines and
do a search for the product. But when I do this I get too many sites
that don't sell products. I always use malls because I know that I'll
only get sites that are in the business of selling.

I'm I off-my-rocker with this idea of a marketing co-op for small
Internet retailers?
