Hey all,
I try not to push Tenagra's own project to the list very often. But
please indulge for a moment on this one.
I just wanted to let everyone know that we announced the 1997 Tenagra
Awards winners last night at a banquet here at _at_d.Tech.Chicago. The
Tenagra Awards recognize organizations and individuals whose
achievements fundamentally impact the way marketing, public relations
and advertising are done on the Internet.
The Awards were given in five categories, covering Internet
developments in 1997. Detailed case studies on each awardee are

CATEGORY 1 - Successful Internet Business Model
Asian Sources On-Line ( http://www.asiansources.com/ ): for its
success in using the Internet to help bring buyers and suppliers
together.
VerticalNet, Inc. ( http://www.verticalnet.com/ ): for its ability to
turn online publishing and community building into a viable business
model on a repeatable basis.
IntraLinks, Inc. ( http://www.intralinks.com/ ): for its business
model centered on using the Internet to develop electronic document
distribution and transaction management services.
CATEGORY 2 - Online Public Relations Success
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA): for its use
of the Internet to communicate with the public about the 1997 Mars
Pathfinder mission ( http://mpfwww.jpl.nasa.gov/default.html ).
CATEGORY 3 - Online Advertising Success
Millward Brown Interactive ( http://www.mbinteractive.com/ ): for its
development of a methodology that allows advertisers to quantify the
value of brand advertising on the Web.
Aptex Software Inc. ( http://www.aptex.com/ ): for its development of
software (SelectCast for Ad Servers) that profiles the actions of
Internet users that visit Web sites.
CATEGORY 4 - Publication Focused on Internet Marketing
ClickZ Today ( http://www.clickz.com/ ): for establishing a new
Internet publication that has achieved industry-wide influence.
ICONOCAST ( http://www.iconocast.com/ ): for providing industry
decision-makers the analysis necessary to sort marketing spin from
reality.
CATEGORY 5 - Individual Contribution to Internet Marketing
Jill Ellsworth, Ph.D., ( http://www.oak-ridge.com/ ): for her
pioneering work that has formed the foundation of the Internet
marketing industry.
The Tenagra Awards for Internet Marketing Excellence were founded in
1994, making them the Internet marketing industry's oldest peer-review
awards program. As I wrote earlier, the Tenagra Awards recognize
contributions to Internet marketing that FUNDAMENTALLY impact the
industry. The winners are winners because they are putting forth
original paradigms for success online.
Someone once said that good ideas are copied, great ideas are stolen.
I'd think seriously about stealing these guys' ideas.
I also wanted to take a moment to recognize this year's panel, who
generously gave of their time to help us pull all of this
together. In addition to Cliff and myself, the other panelists were:
