I disagree with Mr. Welch's assumption that a media buyer leaving a phone
message for a return call is less likely to purchase internet advertising
and looking more for "chatting about advertising". In my company's
business, the phone calls are the "Glen Gary's" and the email leads are more
of the "tire kickers". Typically out of 10 phone calls you will have 2 or 3
turn into business, whereas, out of 100 emails you might get the same
conversion. Generally speaking, someone who is willing to spend the dime to
make the phone call is usually more serious about buying advertising than
the person willing to hit the "send" button on their email message.
