Wow! I didn't mean to take over the list with my inquiry.
Thanks to everyone who answered, on and off the list. I now
have enough strategies to write a book rather than a short
article, and I'm not sure what to do with the largess. Sell
more articles, obviously. ;)

This list is certainly a font of information on advertising.
I need to sort through all the replies and figure out how,
in the few words I have for the article, to write about some
of the great ideas everyone suggested.

Anyone who is quoted will be checked back with before
anything is sent out to the editor. And if I don't get a
chance to quote someone in this article, the good thing is
that I write about Internet marketing every month for
another magazine, Current Technology (in Texas). I think I
feel another article coming on...
