Sorry if you don't get my point, but that's no skin off my back.

If that's your assertion, then by all means, back
it up with hard numbers to get your ad sales.

I don't see what's so difficult to understand about this.
Say I'm interested in programming tools, and I frequent
sites that review said interest. Said site displays banner
ads for other sites that promote their individual
programming products. One ad promotes a "contest" if I check
theirs out. And that's how I end up on their site.

I would probably prove to be a more valuable prospect for
this advertiser than, say, someone who purposely looks for
contests -- any contest, whether the product or service
being promoted is of interest to me or not -- just because I
could win.

Now say I'm the advertiser, and I have exactly $1 to spend
on advertising. Each of these two sites charges that amount
to advertise. Guess who I'm spending the money on.

Devil's advocate time: Say the programming site charges only
.25, leaving me some extra money. Does that mean then that I
should advertise on your site to get your "real people"? No.
There are other sites like site #1, or have audience
demographics that match site #1's more closely. There goes
the rest of it.

As I have indicated before, there are marketers who will
most probably be interested in your demographic. I guess you
just haven't found them yet.
