ONLINE-ADS>> PRESS QUERY: Harvard Management Update

Hi all-

I'm working on an article for Harvard Management Update -- the
newsletter of the Harvard Business Review -- and am wondering if folks
on the list can help me. I'm looking for a company to profile.

In the words of my editor: Every company these days has a fancy website,
and the larger ones doubtless get many thousands of hits. Does this have
any practical meaning for the managers inside that company? Are they
using the website to gather info from customers, establish relationships
with them, test out new-product ideas, or for any other useful business
purpose? The idea would be to find companies where the managers are in
fact doing neat things w/ their external website, or where the
organization is set up to channel useful info from the site directly to
line managers. The payoff to the reader: stimulate some thinking about
he/she can use their own organization's site.

Having trawled around quite a bit, I've found a lot of companies with
very elaborate and well-run web sites that get information TO customers,
but very few that get informatoin FROM customers and back to management.
Since y'all are web marketers by trade, I'm hoping perhaps you've come
across companies with some interesting approaches to this.
