I was also shocked to hear this staggering statistic ( .1% Yikes!):

Of course, I don't think all banner exchanges are created
equal :-) For example, I operate NurseLink Banner Exchange
( http://www.wwnurse.com/NurseLink/ ), which only accepts
nursing related websites to participate and accepts only
nursing related Paid advertising.

Since this is a highly targeted exchange, I have never seen
a .1% Click-thru rate?? The CTR average seems to be around
2.0% with a range from .8% to 5.4%. This has been fairly
consistent over the past year. Currently 55+ sites
participating with approx. 2200 banners displayed each day.

BTW: Richard, thanks for this great list! It has proven
very useful to us all!
