I would not say that speedlane are a scam but we did a brief
CPM campaign for them on Safe Audit and discovered that they
had a remarkably low conversion factor. That may have
something to do with a very clunky online payment system
which they use. It may also have something to do with the
fact that other comparable products such as webcelerator are
free. We have been running very successful campaigns for
webcelerator and they get a very high conversion factor. I
did a quick computation (since they currently pay $1 CPM)
and you would have earned about $150 net on the number of
clickthroughs had you been hosting their campaign on Safe. I
should also add that we run many affiliate campaigns on Safe
now (have done in the past for webcelerator as well) and
they average an equivalent of 25 to 50 cents per click
through.
