Buy.com on "Above the Crowd"
Anybody have any comments on W. Gurley's piece on buy.com.
In short buy.com's willingness to beat anybody's price -
even if it means losing money on the sale - to make up the
difference with advertising. Listen - if a simple content
site like WSJ or any one else can make money from ONLY
advertising and selling content, why can't buy.com make
money by selling products and advertising!!? Sounds good to
me.
