Re: How to value a web site?

Other questions which should be raised, is how being a
public or privately held company would influence value.
Would a firm's value decrease because of a lack of
shareholder knowledge regarding the difference between the
firm's actual and perceived value? Could the volatility of
the stock market devalue the firm? Should you sell as a
private company or try to go public first? Why? How would
you choose an underwriter? Ok, I realize I moved rapidly
from company valuation to an IPO, but apparently the IPO
bandwagon is filling up rapidly.

Moreover, if you're going to stay after the sale, what
percentage of the company would you like to keep, and how do
you decide what value to place on what you keep? How will
your monthly burn rate influence negotiations?
