This seems to be a very interesting discussion - how
advertising in emails will eventually rise into mainstream.
It seems inevitable and I'm sure it will become a main part
of E-commerce.

However, in order to become a leading solution to e-commerce
advertising, it needs some promotion. As of right now, are
there any sites devoted to e-mail advertising? There doesn't
seem to be any. If any company set off and establish a site
that holds complete database of newsletters that accept
advertising. It could be similar to Flycast or Burstmedia,
except on a text-insertion basis.

In addition, shouldn't there be a limitation on how many ads
that can appear in an email sent to readers? I mean, you all
know what it feels like to visit a site that have nothing
but ad banners - it's annoying. Yet, list advertising is
even worse as there are newsletter that take and support
literally hundreds of ads. These e-mails are generally huge
to download and contain little contents. Uh oh, we're back
to useless sites again.

There should definitely be a standard on how many ads a list
should support and if there is more, it should provide good
reasons and what it does to ensure that each of the ads
would get the exposure it deserves. For instance, our
newsletter - 60,000 e-mails sent monthly to subscribers with
a free sharewares/freewares/trialwares as the content,
accepts at most two advertisers per mailing and our
advertisers would definitely get great responses with
Click-To-Subscriber rates of up-to 25%
