I have never actually used the Web Alexa browser before so
I'm not sure of the information I'm posting here. First of
all, does the Alexa browser display ads on every page,
including sites that already have their own adveritisements?
If so, where are their advertisements placed? Wouldn't this
extra advertising space reduces the overall ctr rate of the
site visited? Does Alexa actually compensate sites in any
ways?
Alexa seems to be profitting off all of the web's sites by
just making a browser that would advertise for their own
revenues. This in turn reduces the amount of revenue that
all the visited sites would get because of the reduced ctr.
Also, the advertisement would dilute the site's content.
Alexa never actually made any of these contents and provided
no help to the contents maker, especially non-profit sites
yet they would make millions in advertising. This seems
unfair.
I do not know much about Web Alexa and related stuff and I
would like further comments of others who have used Web
Alexa and those who might have lost thousands because of
this new advertising exploitation.
