Percentage Vs. Dollars Off
I'm looking for statistics on the effectiveness Percentage
off Vs Dollars off e-couponing. Has anyone experimented
with this to see what has been more effective?
e.g. which of the two types of offers has performed better
for you:
Offer Type #1 - N dollars off a purchase of N dollars or
more Offer Type #2 - N percentage off all purchases or... N
percentage off all purchases more or less than a certain
dollar value.
This is for a direct e-mail campaign that I will be
conducting shortly. I plan on testing several offers but I
am putting together some pre-campaign projections and could
use some input.
There are obviously many variables on the back end to
determine the effectiveness of this campaign other than the
response rate and the number of conversions to sale, e.g.
the cost per customer acquired, sales margin etc. This is
just a generally inquiry into the effectiveness of these two
different types of offers in driving site traffic and sales
Thanks for the input,
