Search Engine Service - An oxymoron?

I am collecting search engine service horror stories for an
article I'm writing for Epicentric, the newsletter of the
Society for Internet Advancement, and would very much like
to hear from the list any experiences they may have had on a
service level when engaging search engine sales staff.
Though it has been long known and seldom mentioned, the
biggest SE on the web has probably the worst service of any
media company in operation today. I've dealt with Network
TV, Cable, radio, print, and other web companies, but these
guys take the cake. Their staff tends to be arrogant,
stiff, jack-booted enthusiasts for 'policy' who have little
experience with the web. I'm curious if there are other
buyers out there with similar experiences with other search
engines. Memories tend to be long among media folk, while
careers in sales are short. I wonder if SE sales staffs
really think they can treat buyers the way they do when they
will have to be calling on them from their next job...

Would love to hear feedback.

Thanks.
