Jim, why don't you also interview people like myself and
others who sell ad banners for a living...I've been doing it
for more than three and a half years, and I am sure that
there have been times when I did not get back to someone
quick enough. We get 150 emails a day, voice mails, pagers,
cell phone voice mail, etc. etc. I give my customers every
single number I own to contact me, and they know they can
call me at home if they like -- note my signature line on
this email.

Why are you focusing on the negative. I have 30 years of
business experience, 15 of which involved senior editorial
positions on magazines and business communication spots --
then I began selling high-tech advertising. There are a
number of professional sales people like me who pride
ourselves in customer service. Sometimes there just aren't
enough hours in the day to handle every inquiry we get in
the rapid-fire return customers would like. We sure try to
do our best but it isn't always easy -- for example,
consider advertisers who do the following:

-leave messages with incorrect phone numbers

-leave messages with no phone numbers

-have incorrect email addresses

-send an email and need reply within two hours and you are
traveling on the road

etc. etc. etc.

if you are a professional journalist -- why don't you do us
all a favor and get a balanced story -- sure there are
horror stories, I hear them all the time about my
competitors - but I am never too smug to think that I didn't
misplace a lead somewhere or forget to call someone back.
