I rarely open these .exe files, (when I do, it's on my
"test" box) because you never know when one might be a
"trojan horse" that upon execution could delete your file
systems. With that said, I find that the majority of people
DO open them (especially in the workplace!) and pass them
around:

(1) they don't recognize the potential for danger/it can't
happen to me.

(2) if they do recognize some possibility of danger, they
assume that their anti-virus program will prevent any
destructive activities.

(3) figure it's a work computer, so MIS/IT will fix any
possible problems or reload any software needed.

(4) they are on a fast connection, usually a 10/100BT
intranet with a T1 line to the net, so retrieving and
forwarding large-sized attachments is a trivial matter.

With that said, these clips have the power to generate
positive "word of mouth" or better yet, "word of mouse" if
properly executed. By the same token, they can be used by an
unethical competitor to trash your business in a mouse
click.
