RE: No one launches a "new portal"
Geez Marty ... a new 'portal' success is just subscription
to a well liked / known available product. Starbucks may
not know the proper and appropriate technology. But, rest
assured that the WWW audience will find Starbucks and
subscribe if they can. Think ... all the new netizens
don't have to learn to bookmark they just have to subscribe.
Once again ... the WWW audience's are a changing as we
speak / write.
Personally, I prefer an ice cold diet coke. But, I can't
help but see ... in airports, hotels, office buildings and
everywhere else ... the hold Starbucks has on the public.
Starbucks is familiar, comfortable and coffee. Can it get
any better??? And, their (Starbucks) 'target' audience is
on the internet.
If Starbucks has a good design and techno team behind them
... they will have more subscribers than MSNBC. Starbucks
may not be as clever or big as MSNBC.
But, you know what?? They are familiar and comfortable to
the emerging WWW audiences.
