Opinions on traffic log analysis tools
Ultimately, the quality of our data determines the quality
of the analysis (aka GIGO, or, garbage in = garbage out)
but I thought it appropriate to ask this list about which
*tools* are preferred to analyze the daily streams of
traffic logs from the servers.
I am trying to fend off an internal development effort in
this area and would appreciate to hear what the
professionals on this list use - whether shrink-wrapped or
custom-coded, it would be of help in making our decision..
Any lurking vendor of commercial software is welcome to
contact me directly. ;-)
Thank you for your time.
