tools to measure our site statistics

Greg,

I echo your concern about WebTrends. Many of my clients use
this popular tracking application, and almost all of them
have one problem or another with the data they get back. In
particular we have noted wide discrepancies between weekly,
monthly and quarterly rollups. Some of this is a result of
not being careful enough about specifying exactly the same
parameters for each set of reports. But that doesn't appear
to be the whole answer. One area of continuing concern is
the way in which WebTrends determines session counts. I must
say that I'm not convinced that this is a problem with
WebTrends per se. It may well be "operator error" in
specifying the reports. But having said that, it is
apparently difficult to specify fully parallel reports for
different time periods.

What are you seeing that makes you question the validity of
the data?
