I publish NY Unique, a rapidly growing internet magazine
which provides tourism/leisure info on New York City and the
metro region. We're at http://www.nyunique.com and hope to
be almost fully advertiser-supported within a year. An
article this week in a NY Times advertising column was about
the surging popularity of ad-blocking software, which allows
a user to open a website without having the ads on the page
served on his/her pc. Any comments about the impact this
might have on the internet advertising industry? While the
software is still relatively rare, it is apparently starting
to sell rapidly, and is being marketed by some big names
such as Seimens. I'd especially like to hear from other
owners of small independent sites that depend on advertising
for at least part of their revenues. Thanks!
