These sites may limit the loops/animation time to not be
overbearing or irritating to site visitors, and also so that
if the user decides to print the page, they don't have to
worry about the animation throwing any quirks into the
process (and the user doesn't have to worry about turning
off the animations through the browser, every time).

Just some thoughts.
